More Information of Switch
The Cisco Product is a member of the Cisco Small Business family of Ethernet switches. It is designed for small businesses and branch offices that require a reliable and high-performance network switch.
This Product is a 24-port switch, which includes 24 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports. This allows for high-speed connectivity for devices such as servers, workstations, and network storage devices. The switch also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) on some of its ports, which can be used to power devices such as IP phones and wireless access points. The switch also supports Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) which help to reduce energy consumption and save on operating costs.
This Product includes advanced features such as Quality of Service (QoS) and VLANs to help ensure that network traffic is properly prioritized and separated, improving network performance and security. It also support Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) and Port Trunking, which enables the administrator to group several ports together to form a single logical link, increasing the overall bandwidth.
The switch also includes a variety of security features, such as Access Control Lists (ACLs) and Port Security, which help to protect the network against unauthorized access and security threats. The switch also supports Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for secure access.
This Product is also easy to set up and manage. It can be configured and managed using the web-based GUI or CLI, making it easy for even non-technical users to set up and manage the switch. It also supports Cisco FindIT Network Discovery Protocol which allows it to be easily discovered by the Cisco Network Assistant, a network management tool provided by Cisco.
The ESW-520-24P-K9 Cisco Small Business Ethernet switch is a high-performance network switch that is designed for small business environments. It provides 24 Ethernet ports, allowing you to connect multiple devices such as computers, servers, and printers to the network.
One of the key features of this Switch is its ability to provide non-blocking wire-speed performance, which means that it can handle the full bandwidth of all 24 ports simultaneously without any loss of performance. This is achieved through the use of a high-performance switching fabric that allows data to be transmitted and received quickly and efficiently.
The switch also supports Quality of Service (QoS) features, which allow you to prioritize different types of traffic, such as voice or video, to ensure that critical traffic is delivered with minimal delay and jitter. Additionally, it supports VLAN (Virtual LAN) to further segment the traffic and increase the security.
Another important feature is Power over Ethernet (PoE), which allows the switch to power devices such as wireless access points, IP phones, and cameras over the Ethernet cable. This eliminates the need for separate power sources for these devices, making it easier to deploy and manage.
The switch also comes with a web-based interface that allows you to easily configure and manage the switch.
In summary, this Product Cisco Small Business Ethernet switch is a high-performance switch that is well-suited for small business environments. It offers a wealth of features including non-blocking wire-speed performance, Quality of Service, VLAN support and Power over Ethernet, making it a great choice for those looking to upgrade or expand their network.
Benefits and Features
A Cisco 24-port switch typically offers a number of features and benefits that make it well-suited for use in a variety of networking environments. Some of the most common features and benefits of this type of switch include:
- High port density: With 24 ports, this type of switch provides a high port density, which allows for the connectivity of a large number of devices in a small form factor. This can be particularly useful in environments where space is limited.
- Multiple speeds: Many Cisco 24-port switches support multiple speeds, including 10/100/1000Mbps, which allows for flexibility in connecting devices that have different speed capabilities.
- Quality of Service (QoS): QoS allows you to prioritize different types of network traffic, such as voice or video, to ensure that these critical applications receive the bandwidth they need.
- VLANs: Virtual LANs (VLANs) allow you to segment your network into different logical networks, which can improve security and make it easier to manage your network.
- Link aggregation: Link aggregation allows you to bundle multiple physical links together to form a single logical link, which can increase the available bandwidth and provide redundancy in case of a link failure.
- Security: Cisco 24-port switches often include advanced security features such as access control lists (ACLs) and port security, which can help to protect your network from unauthorized access or malicious activity.

About Refurbished Products
Different Types of Switches
Networking switches vary widely depending on the number of devices they can support, network bandwidth/speed, and form factor. Switches for small offices will have anything between 4 and 8 ports and can fit on a desk. For larger office network implementation, switches may have 24 ports, 48 ports, 96 ports, and 128 ports and are rack-mountable between 1U and 4U. Switches come in different types depending on the network speed and tasks they support. These include 40/100 Gbps, 10 Gigabit (up to 10000 Mbps), Gigabit Ethernet (up to 1000 Mbps), Power over Ethernet, and Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbps).
The unmanaged switches offer fixed configuration on a plug-and-play basis. It is the most basic switch and there are a few choices in the market. These switches are affordable, but the basic features make them inappropriate for enterprise applications.
The number of features and level of functionality improves with managed switches, making them ideal for enterprise and business applications. These switches are built with the command-line interface for ease of configuration. Equally, they support SNMP agents that come in handy when troubleshooting network issues.
The security on managed switches is better and will protect different types of traffic. Other features include support for virtual LANs, IP routing, and quality of service settings. Managed switches are more expensive compared to all other types of switches.
Smart switches refer to switches that possess more features than those of unmanaged switches but do not have the full features of managed switches. Smart switches are more cost-effective than managed switches.
Some of the limitations of the smart switches are a lack of telnet access support, Web GUIs, and a lack of many features for VLANs. They are affordable compared to a fully managed switch and are suitable for a smaller computer network.
Modular switches allow the addition of expansion modules as the network expands. The expansion modules allow for more networked devices but are application-specific. They may include wireless access points, firewalls, or network analysis tools. The flexibility of a modular networking switch comes at a higher cost.
