The JGXK2 is a solid-state drive (SSD) produced by Dell, designed for use in servers. It has a capacity of 480 gigabytes (GB) and uses the Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) interface for communication with the server. It operates at a data transfer rate of 12 Gigabytes per second (GBPS) and is classified as a Read Intensive Multi-Level Cell (MlC) drive. In this article, we will explore the technical specifications and features of the JGXK2 SSD.
The JGXK2 has a storage capacity of 480GB, which is a moderate amount of storage for a server drive. This capacity can be used to store operating systems, applications, and data on the server. However, if the server is being used for large-scale data storage or high-performance computing, a larger capacity drive may be necessary.
The JGXK2 uses the Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) interface to communicate with the server. This interface is commonly used in enterprise-level servers due to its high data transfer rates and reliability. SAS is a point-to-point interface, meaning that each drive is connected to a single controller, providing a direct connection with minimal latency. This results in faster data transfer rates and increased reliability.
Data Transfer Rate
The JGXK2 has a maximum data transfer rate of 12 Gigabytes per second (GBPS). This high data transfer rate is due to the SAS interface used by the drive. A high data transfer rate is essential in a server environment, where large amounts of data need to be processed quickly. The JGXK2's high data transfer rate ensures that data can be accessed and processed quickly, resulting in faster performance and improved efficiency.
Read Intensive Multi-Level Cell (MlC)
The JGXK2 is classified as a Read Intensive Multi-Level Cell (MlC) drive. MLC is a type of flash memory that allows multiple bits of data to be stored in each memory cell. This results in higher storage density and lower cost per bit than Single-Level Cell (SLC) flash memory. However, MLC flash memory has a lower endurance rating than SLC flash memory, meaning it can only sustain a limited number of write cycles before the memory cells begin to degrade.
The Read Intensive classification means that the JGXK2 is optimized for read-intensive workloads, such as database and web servers, where data is read more often than it is written. This is achieved by using a higher proportion of memory cells that are optimized for reading data rather than writing data. This results in a drive that is optimized for reading data quickly, while still maintaining a reasonable write speed.
The JGXK2 uses the 512n format for data storage. 512n refers to the number of bytes per sector on the drive. This format is commonly used in enterprise-level drives and provides improved performance and reliability over other sector sizes, such as 4Kn. The 512n format allows for faster data transfer rates and more accurate error correction, resulting in improved reliability and data integrity.
The JGXK2 has a form factor of 2.5 inches, which is a common size for server drives. This form factor allows the drive to fit into a variety of server configurations, including rack-mounted servers and blade servers. The hot-swap feature allows the drive to be replaced while the server is still running, without the need for downtime. This is a valuable feature in a server environment, where uptime is critical.

About Refurbished Products
Users who prefer faster transfer rates and improved system response would find SAS 12GBPS SSDs handy. These drives are suitable for use in enterprise servers and storage arrays. They can process large workloads that require high input/output and low latency. SAS 12GBPS SSDs are one of the most improved storage devices for server virtualization, high-end computing, and data analytics.
These drives support dual-port operation with features that improve reliability. These features include advanced error correction, high signal quality, data integrity technology, and several others. They use higher signal voltages with end-to-end integrity, offering better data speed than SATA drives, and supporting multiple data paths.
Ultra-Fast & Consistent Performance
As SSDs continue to expand in the memory market, the SAS solid-state drives seek to leverage the 12GBPs architecture to offer high-level performance. The design of these drives allows them to carry out several operations effectively. Server virtualization, tiering, high-performance computing, and data analytics have never been faster.
These drives have steady performance specs to allow them to carry out sequential activities. Users will find SAS SSDs with form factors within the range of 1.8" and 3.5", making them a compact option. The SAS 12GBPS comes with a multi-path connection which provides room for fail-over redundancy. With this, users can be sure that there will be no single point of failure.
Furthermore, they feature advanced SAS error-control that ensures high-level error correction and data protection. There is also an error-recovery technology combination that helps to protect user data and prevent data loss.
